As a neutral third party, CTW bridges labor and management to develop innovative partnerships with educational institutions, community organizations, and workforce development agencies, strengthening transit workforce capacity and enhancing community well-being.

With over 20 years of research-based, field-proven methods, CTW's successful training model is being replicated by the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) across the U.S.. The U.S. Department of Labor recognizes CTW as a key partner in ATU’s efforts to establish the National Center for High Road Clean Transit Careers.

The first Northern California Regional Conference brought together partners, leaders, and frontline professionals for a day of collaboration, creativity, and shared vision. Hosted by Golden Gate Transit and ATU Local 1575, the conference was held at the Bill and Adele Jonas Center at the College of Marin, a valued partner with Golden Gate Transit in the Bus Operator Apprenticeship program.
The day opened with an exciting announcement: the first-ever combined ATU Local and Agency Management caucus would be held that afternoon. On September 4th and 5th, staff from California Transit Works! (CTW) and the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) conducted a two-day training session at TriMet Transit Agency’s Powell Bus Yard Facility. As the Labor Management partnership model continues to grow, we’re proud to feature Partners Moving Forward (PMF)—a powerful collaboration between Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) and ATU Local 256. PMF is a great example of what happens when labor and management come together with a shared vision. Through frontline leadership, mentorship, and a commitment to workforce development, PMF is helping to create lasting career pathways and a culture of growth and collaboration.
