California Transit Works! unites transit workers, managers, and unions to develop high road training programs that empower workers and improve service through strong labor-management partnerships.
Check out the San Joaquin Driving Force newsletter, providing updates on an amazing 2024. In January, mentors and management attended the Mentors in Motion conference in Union City, participating in workshops and sharing insights with industry peers. Later in the year, RTD hosted the inaugural CTW Coordinator Conference, welcoming agencies from across Northern California and showcasing its impressive facility. The event provided a valuable platform for coordinators to discuss the mentor program. To close the year, several mentors took part in the annual 5K Run & Walk Against Hunger, demonstrating their commitment to the community.

On January 22nd, CTW conducted a dynamic mentor training session with Partners Moving Forward (PMF), a partnership between Sacramento Regional Transit District(SacRT) and ATU Local 256. The training brought together an exceptional group of mentors from all divisions, including Big Bus, Community Bus Service (CBS), Elk Grove e-Tran, and Paratransit.
One of the key accomplishments of the training was the development of GYR (Green, Yellow, Red) evaluation forms tailored to accommodate all divisions, ensuring consistency and clarity across the system. The training also emphasized the importance of teamwork and focus through engaging team-building exercises. These activities reinforced how working together effectively leads to success—both on the road and in mentorship. This diverse and dedicated group of mentors is leading the way in strengthening Sacramento Regional Transit’s workforce, ensuring that they receive the guidance and support they need. |
